Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India, has released the official notification for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for admission to Class IX for the academic session 20272028. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are coeducational residential schools fully funded and administered by the Government of India through Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. These schools are established in rural areas across various districts in the country to provide quality modern education to talented children predominantly from rural regions.

Education in JNVs is completely free of cost, including boarding, lodging, uniforms, textbooks, stationery, and medical facilities. The lateral entry admission into Class IX is aimed at filling vacant seats available in various Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across 653 functional schools. Candidates currently studying in Class 8 during the academic session in government or governmentrecognized schools located in the same district where the JNV is functioning are eligible to apply for this competitive entrance examination.
