RRB Paramedical Staff Recruitment 2026: Official Notification Overview
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has officially released the detailed recruitment notification (Centralised Employment Notice Advt No: 05/2026) for the recruitment of highcaliber healthcare professionals to fill 590 Paramedical Staff vacancies. Pay Matrix, Salary Structure & Financial Allowances
Candidates selected under RRB Paramedical Staff recruitment will be placed in competitive Pay Levels under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix, depending upon the specific cadre and technical responsibilities of the post:
- Level 7 Posts (e.g., Nursing Superintendent): Basic Pay starting at ₹44,900/- per month (Initial Pay Level 7). Gross monthly salary ranging between ₹68,000/- and ₹78,000/-, inclusive of allowances.
- Level 6 Posts (e.g., Health & Malaria Inspector Grade III, Audiologist): Basic Pay starting at ₹35,400/- per month. Gross monthly salary approximately ₹52,000/- to ₹62,000/-.
- Level 5 Posts (e.g., Pharmacist Grade III, Radiographer, Lab Superintendent): Basic Pay starting at ₹29,200/- per month. Gross monthly salary ranging from ₹42,000/- to ₹50,000/-.
- Level 4 Posts (e.g., Lab Assistant Grade III, ECG Technician): Basic Pay starting at ₹25,500/- per month. Gross monthly salary approx ₹36,000/- to ₹42,000/-.
In addition to basic pay, employees receive comprehensive government allowances including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA based on X, Y, Z class cities), Transport Allowance (TA), Hospital Patient Care Allowance (HPCA) / Patient Care Allowance (PCA), Annual Dress Allowance, and free Railway Pass/PTO facilities as per prevailing Railway Service Rules.

Selected paramedical personnel play a critical role in maintaining the operational readiness of Railway Medical Services. Responsibilities include providing highquality nursing care, running medical diagnostic equipment, managing pathology laboratories, ensuring environmental hygiene and sanitation within railway quarters and station premises, and dispensing pharmaceutical supplies. Career progression is structured through timebound promotions and departmental examinations leading to senior supervisory designations like Chief Nursing Officer, Senior Pharmacist, and Principal Health Inspector.
