Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Stenographer Grade C & D Recruitment 2025 Overview

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially declared the Final Result and Merit List for the Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group 'B', NonGazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D' (Group 'C', NonGazetted) Examination 2025. This major nationallevel recruitment drive is conducted to fill 1,590 vacancies in various Ministries, Departments, and Central Government Organizations across India.

Selected candidates for Stenographer Grade 'C' positions will be placed in Pay Level-6 (Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400) or Pay Level-7 depending on department rules, while Stenographer Grade 'D' appointees will be placed in Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100). Beyond the basic salary scale, recruited candidates are entitled to central allowances including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and healthcare benefits under CGHS.

The selection cycle began with the notification release and application submission in June 2025, followed by the Computer Based Examination (CBT) in August 2025, the Stenography Skill Test in January 2026, and mandatory submission of the online Optioncum-Preference form in May 2026. The final result released on August 25, 2026 completes the evaluation, allocating candidates to user departments based on CBT merit and verified preferences.
