The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released an official recruitment notification (Advt. No. 18Exam/2026) inviting online applications from qualified and eligible candidates for the post of Veterinary Pharmacist (Pashu Chikitsa Pharmacist) under the Animal Husbandry Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. A total of 1308 vacancies have been announced for this prestigious recruitment drive.

Recruitment Scope and Importance

Veterinary Pharmacists play a vital and frontline role in the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh. Selected candidates are primarily entrusted with dispensing animal medicines, managing veterinary dispensary inventory, assisting veterinary doctors during medical procedures and surgeries, supporting disease surveillance, and administering animal vaccinations and health welfare drives in clinical setups and rural sectors.

Salary Structure and 7th CPC Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive compensation under the Pay Band-1 / Revised 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix Level 5. The salary structure includes:

• Pay Scale: Rs. 5,200 - 20,200/- with Grade Pay Rs. 2,800/- (Revised Level 5 Matrix: Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300/-).
• Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and medical reimbursement as per Uttar Pradesh state government service rules.
• Gross Monthly Emoluments: Ranging approximately between Rs. 38,000/- to Rs. 44,000/- per month at joining depending on posting city (Class X, Y, or Z).

Service Conditions and Reservation Policies

Candidates must possess a valid UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) scorecard to be eligible for shortlisting. Reservation benefits (vertical and horizontal) are applicable strictly to bona fide residents and domicile certificate holders of Uttar Pradesh as per government norms for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ExServicemen, Women, and PwD categories. Candidates from other states will be treated under the Unreserved (General) category.
